Our daily routine at Kindergarten Meilenstein
A clear and lovingly structured daily routine provides children with a sense of security, direction, and safety. At the same time, there is enough space for the children's individual needs, interests, and moods.
We differentiate between the kindergarten group (3-6 years) and the toddler group (0-3 years) – both have similar routines, but adapted to the respective age.
🌼 Daily routine in the kindergarten group (3–6 years)
Orientation Phase
The children are greeted by the teacher and gathered in the group room. After a brief farewell from their parents, the children are allowed to start playing independently.
Flexible Snack
At the breakfast buffet, children choose when and what they want for breakfast. Afterward, they clear away their dishes – true to the motto "I can do this!"
Morning Circle
We greet each other with a ritual (song, game, or saying). The children learn what activities are planned for the day.
Concentration Phase
Now it's time for targeted activities: painting, crafts, experiments, exercise, or small group projects. Everything is based on the Vienna Education Plan and the children's interests.
Lunch
The children help set the table, serve themselves, and decide how much they want to eat. This is a valuable exercise in independence and eating habits.
Rest period
After eating, the children can relax – those who want to can rest, while others can quietly engage in an activity.
Afternoon snack
A healthy snack provides new energy.
Free Play and Pick-up Time
The children choose what they want to play until they are picked up. As they leave, they say goodbye to the teacher and assistant.

Orientation Phase
Parents provide important information about their child's well-being to the teachers. Afterward, the children are warmly welcomed and can explore the play areas.
Flexible Snack
A buffet invites children to prepare their own breakfast. Teachers will assist if needed.
Morning Circle
In the circle, we greet each other with songs, finger games, or rhymes—rituals that provide security and joy. Afterwards, the day's activities are introduced.
Free Play & Concentration
The children decide for themselves what they want to play with. Additionally, the teachers offer age-appropriate activities.
Lunch
We eat together in a relaxed atmosphere. We set the table together, and before eating, we say a blessing.
Rest period
After an active morning, the children have time to sleep or rest – this allows them to recharge their batteries.
Afternoon Snack
A small, healthy snack will give the children energy. Afterward, they are free to play or participate in activities.
Free Play & Pick-up Time
The children have time to finish their games or try new activities before pick-up. There are often exercise options in the afternoon. Before going home, everyone tidys up and says goodbye together.
✨ Our daily routine is clearly structured, yet flexible enough to accommodate the children's needs and interests. This creates a harmonious rhythm of play, learning, exercise, rest, and shared experiences.
